The journey of The Overfeelers begins with a fundamental question: How do you know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’re standing? In our debut episode, Gabriela Cansinos introduces one of the most transformative tools in the coaching world: The Wheel of Life.
For those of us who feel deeply, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the "big picture." We feel the weight of our ambitions, our relationships, and our health all at once. This episode is about zooming out, taking a breath, and using a clinical yet compassionate lens to audit our current reality.
What is the Wheel of Life?
Think of the Wheel of Life as a 360-degree snapshot of your existence. It is a visual tool that breaks your life into key segments—typically 8 to 10 areas—such as Career, Finances, Health, Romance, Personal Growth, and Contribution.
In this episode, Gabriela guides you through the process of scoring each segment from 1 (completely dissatisfied) to 10 (fully thriving).
Why "Overfeelers" Need This Tool
As ambitious individuals with high empathy, we often suffer from "Segment Envy" or "Hyper-Focus." We might be a "10" in our professional life while our physical health or inner peace is at a "2."
Visualizing the Bumpy Ride: If you connect the dots of your scores and the resulting shape is jagged and uneven, your "wheel" won't roll smoothly. This explains why, despite professional success, you might still feel "off" or anxious.
Neutralizing Guilt: The Wheel of Life isn't about judgment; it’s about data. It allows us to look at our lack of balance without the heavy "Overfeeler" self-criticism.
Strategic Prioritization: You can't fix everything at once. This tool helps you identify the one area that, if improved, would have a positive ripple effect on all the others.
3 Steps to Take After Listening:
Draw Your Wheel: Don't just think about it—put pen to paper. Physicalizing your thoughts is the first step of Planning.
The "Gap" Analysis: Look at the distance between where you are (your current score) and where you want to be. What is the smallest possible step you can take this week to move a "4" to a "5"?
Own Your Truth: Be radically honest. This is the Authenticity we champion at The Overfeelers.
"A balanced life isn't a stagnant one; it’s a life where you have the stability to move fast without falling apart." — Gabriela Cansinos
